on saturday i had the priveledge of being the second to shooter to my friend jill devries. jill and i met at calvin college and became friends through our love for photography. i was so excited to finally get the chance to shoot a wedding with her (we had been talking about this for awhile).

i remembering seeing jill's photos from her engagement session with danielle and joseph. i remembering thinking what a fun couple they looked like and i was so excited to be there as a photographer when jill asked me! talk about such a strong christian couple that know how to celebrate and love others. hope you enjoy these!

kitty & june

kitty and june are the craziest pets i've ever had in my entire life. i know that may seem dramatic, but ever since june (our airedale) has been around, our house has been insane.

kitty is our seventh month old kitten. she is a "rescue" cat. my best friend, janell, found her on her doorstep one night and to make a long story short, she came to live with me in miami before i got married. nathan (my husband) and i drove her up with us on our big move to chicago.

june is our eight week old airedale. she is a handful. it is hard to believe that we picked her out because she was the calmest dog in the crate... she's made my life in particular very busy, but like all dogs... you just gotta love them.

i decided to post some photos of them, as i'm sure this blog will follow them as they grow and i have more stories about their crazy antics.

new town new thoughts.

on march 8th my life changed in a huge way- i got married to my best friend and soon after moved to a new city. life has been insane since then as i adjust to a new life, a new role as a wife and try to figure out just what God has for me next in my story.

as many of you know i obviously have a very big passion for photography. i tend to underestimate myself a great deal and it is because of constant encouragement from my friends, family and especially my husband, i've decided to pursue a new career. natalie patterson photography is the culmination of many dreams and many years of hard work and study.

apart from photographing weddings, family and other celebrations it is also about my study of the craft of photography and how i believe it translates into helping us understand different elements of our environment.

i have many exciting photo opportunities coming up this summer... a shoot with the fabulous jill devries and a few weddings including the wedding of a close friend kathy miersma :). i also have a vacation coming up to northern michigan to visit my family and a chance to do some exploring in mackinac island--- all of these adventures with my camera in my hand, not bad.

peace.
